Impelsys enabled the development of an AI platform that supports intelligent discovery across 10,000+ titles. Built using Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and Model Context Protocol (MCP), the platform allows approved AI assistants to securely access, interpret, and recommend trusted content. The solution improves search relevance and creates a more interactive user experience. It also establishes secure retrieval and agent interfaces that enable AI-driven discovery, citation, and recommendation while maintaining governance and access controls.
A globally distributed engineering model, with teams across Portugal, Brazil, Colombia, and India, supports the publisher’s IT operations and digital ecosystem, ensuring continuity, scalability, and alignment with its technology landscape.
The platform significantly enhanced content discovery and engagement, enabling up to 3x increase in reach across research assets and delivering up to 70% improvement in search accuracy. It improved user interaction while positioning the publisher to extend its content into the AI ecosystem. The initiative also created new opportunities to package and deliver trusted research as monetizable AI-ready knowledge services.
