London Book Fair 2019 – the Ultimate Gathering of International Media and Publishing Industry

One of the most awaited times of the year in publishing industry, the London Book Fair is just a few days away. Taking place on 12-14 of March this year, it’s the 48th edition of one of the most important global marketplace for rights negotiation and the sale and distribution of content across print, audio, TV, film and digital channels.

For 1,000+ exhibitors from 60 countries around the world the London Book Fair provides them with the perfect platform to engage with customers, demonstrate their products, build brand awareness, conduct face to face business, and – most importantly – make sales. Visitors come from over 135 countries and around 25,000 publishing professionals, who are involved with the creation, distribution, sale or treatment of content, authors, talent scouts, editors, designers and digital gurus attend the show. The fair is the perfect marketing and sales spot for giant publishing houses to the smallest independent, publishers of blockbuster novels and academic texts, producers of children’s books and graphic novels, technology companies, and gaming start-ups.

Indonesia will be the Market Focus for LBF 2019, introducing the country’s ‘17,000 Islands of Imagination’ to the international public and symbolising the intellectual and artistic richness of the incredibly diverse and multi-religious nation. Aside from the book fair, Indonesia has planned dozens of cultural programs across London to introduce other creative industry sectors, from game and music to animation. Besides 12 writers and 34 book and non-book publishers, the Indonesian delegation also includes culinary expert Santhi Serad, fashion designer Didit Maulana, musicians Nyak “Ubiet” Ina Raseuki, Dimawan and Tesla Manaf, as well as artist Muhammad “Emte” Taufik.

Impelsys’ digital content and learning delivery technology iPC Scholar launched at Frankfurt Book Fair 2017 will be the highlight at Impelsys’ booth this year. The cloud hosted and microservices based solution enables publishers to integrate and securely deliver all their scholarly content and online courseware to researchers, professionals and students directly through their own branded portal. Another important showcase this year will be iPC Health, a digital content and learning delivery solution specifically designed for hospitals in Asia, to improve healthcare outcomes by fulfilling the training, development and compliance needs of healthcare professionals.

London Book Fair is also home to numerous conferences and seminars, the subjects of these programmes range from authors, children’s literature, illustration to audio publishing, poetry, technology and scholarly publishing.  The popular and paid-for LBF Monday conference, Quantum, takes place on 11 March 2019. A global conference, with speakers and attendees hailing from over 25 different nations, will encompass the pressing publishing challenges, opportunities, good practice and the state of the global publishing scene.

Impelsys’ EVP and Head of EMEA/ APAC, Stefan Kendzierskyj will talk on Effective Knowledge Management and Digital Transformation Strategies powered by iPC Scholar’. The talk will highlight on some key aspects of digital publishing with powerful insights on knowledge management and digital strategy. Everyone is invited for this session at the Buzz Theatre on 12th March, 10.00-10.30 am.
