London Book Fair 2018 – the Homecoming of the Publishing World

The most important gathering of the publishing world – London Book Fair – is taking place on 10-12 April this year. A global event in the creative capital of the world, London Book Fair is the global marketplace for rights negotiation and the sale and distribution of content across print, audio, TV, film and digital channels. From the giant houses to the smallest independent publishers of blockbuster novels and academic texts, producers of children’s books and graphic novels, technology providers, mobile companies, and gaming startups, over a 1000 companies exhibit in this global congregation, showcasing their best and upcoming. The 25,000+ visitors from 120+ countries comprise of anyone who is involved with creation, distribution, sale or treatment of content. Authors, talent scouts, editors, designers, digital gurus walk the floor, meeting, talking, observing, and discovering.

London Book Fair is a hub of knowledge and latest developments in the world of publishing and education, every year several conferences and speaking seminars are held where luminaries of the industry enlighten the visitors on different aspects of the industry. Stefan Kenzierskyj, executive v-p and head of EMEA and Asia Pacific, Impelsys Inc. will be speaking at one of the seminars on “Looking Beyond Journal Publishing: An Integrated Approach to Professional and Scholarly Content Management”, on Wednesday, April 11, at 10.45 a.m. in the Buzz Theatre.

Baltic countries of Estonia, Latvia and  Lithuania are the Market Focus for the fair this year – marking a century since their independence. Located at the crossroads between Europe and Russia, these Baltic nations enjoy a rich and cosmopolitan literary history, complementing a fascinating contemporary cultural landscape. The Author of the Day programme celebrates some of the most acclaimed, successful and exciting writers working today. Joanna Trollope OBE (General Trade Author) and Dame Jacqueline Wilson OBE (Children’s Author), will be honoured on Tuesday and Thursday as Author of the Day, respectively. Kristina Sabaliauskaitė (Lithuania), Nora Ikstena(Latvia) and Mihkel Mutt (Estonia) – will be honoured on the second day of LBF (11th April 2018).
