Revamping the SoCreative Program for 15,000 African Creative Entrepreneurs with Learner-Centric Microlearning Modules

The British Council required a self-paced, mobile-friendly e-learning solution that retained the energy and interactivity of in-person workshops. The redesigned program needed to reduce content fatigue, improve learner completion and engagement, and reflect cultural relevance, while preserving existing expert content and providing measurable outcomes for young African creative entrepreneurs aged 18–35.

Impelsys transformed the SoCreative program’s original 25+ hours of static content into an 8-hour interactive microlearning program with 9 to 10-minute modules, scenario-based exercises, and facilitator-style guidance for 15,000 learners. Culturally relevant visuals and African-context examples strengthened learner connection, while optional legacy videos provided depth without overwhelming learners. The platform was mobile-optimized, ensuring accessibility and engagement even in low-bandwidth environments.

The redesigned SoCreative program achieved measurable improvements in learner engagement, motivation, confidence, and completion rates. Learners progressed through the content with greater clarity, interacted more actively with scenario-based activities, and demonstrated stronger confidence in applying creative skills to real-world projects. The program earned the Platinum LearnX Award 2025 for Best Online Learning Model, validating the program’s innovation and modern learning design approach. It also set the stage for future enhancements, including multilingual expansion and learner-driven improvements.
